Marijuana (cannabis) is a flowering plant that grows in many parts of the world. It has been used for thousands of years by people around the globe for both medicinal and recreational purposes.

The History of Marijuana.

In ancient times, marijuana was known as hemp. Hemp was used for clothing, rope, paper, food, medicine, and more. Today, we call marijuana “marijuana” because it contains THC, a chemical compound found in the leaves of the plant.

Types of Marijuana.

There are two main types of marijuana: Indica and Sativa. Both contain THC, but each has different effects. Indicas tend to make people sleepy and relaxed while Sativas tend to make people alert and energetic.
